1st DAY OF SCHOOL

Welcome Back!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The staff of Stride Avenue Community School would like to wish everyone in our school community a warm welcome to the 2023-2024 school year.  A special welcome is extended to students and parents who are new to Stride.   We hope everyone’s summer was an enjoyable and relaxing one.

The dedicated staff at Stride are eager to work with you to make this an exciting and rewarding year for our students.  It is our belief that the school and the home are partners with a common purpose, that of providing the best possible educational experiences for the students.

We encourage families to stay connected, informed and involved, and to reach out to us with questions, concerns and input.

Sincerely,

Shairoz Merani, on behalf of the entire Stride staff.

 Tuesday, September 5, 2023 –

Students in Grades 1 to 7 will be in session from 9:00 to 10:00

Returning students will be greeted at 9:00 by last year’s teacher outside in the same spot as last year and will be dismissed at 10:00.

New students and their families will be greeted on the field near the basketball court by staff for an orientation and will also be dismissed at 10.00.

Wednesday, September 6, 2023

will be the first full day of school (9:00 to 3:00)

for students in grades 1 to 7.

It will very likely take us a few days to stabilize our enrollment numbers before we can place students into their permanent classes for the year.  For the rest of the week (Wednesday to Friday) students will start and end the day with last year’s teacher (new students will be assigned a home room).

Just like you, we want to have all our students in the best possible learning situation as quickly as we can.  We really appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we work through this process.  We will have students in their permanent classes as quickly as possible.

Our students who are entering Kindergarten will be following the interview and gradual entry schedule provided to them.

See you on Tuesday!
