Hello Stride Families,
The summer holidays are a great time for students to read and one of the best sources for reading materials is Tommy Douglas or other Burnaby Public Library branches. If your child enjoys e-books, they may be borrowed using a Burnaby Public Library card through the Libby app, a free download. Joining BPL’s Summer Reading Club, All Together Now is a fun way for students to set and track their reading goals. For more information, call (604) 436-5400.
Students can re-read books at home or the new books they selected at the BASES Book Giveaway. Students can read to others, be read to, and read books written in any language. It is important your child(ren) reads regularly and chooses from a wide range of materials like picture books, chapter books, fiction, non-fiction, magazines, poetry, graphic novels, manga, and more.
Two links to reading recommendations have also been emailed to families.
One is for Primary students and the other for Intermediate students.
